Got another shawarma post for you all!!

Let’s get started!! For the shawarma seasoning we need allspice, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, paprika, onion powder, cumin, oregano, and ground cloves. For the “dressing” we need hummus, lemon juice, and fresh dill. I was going to opt for dried dill but we were at the farmer’s market and I kept seeing fresh dill so I took that as a sign. I’m glad I did! This dill was so fragrant!! Plus I got to make a bunch of “dill” jokes to annoy Mr. FBBQ. Win/Win. We also need quinoa. I had some cooked up from a previous recipe so I decided to use that for now. Lastly, we need a sweet potato, cucumber, red onion, and little tomatoes.

Start by cutting up the sweet potato into cubes and steaming it in the vegetable steamer. While that is happening we can dice up the veggies. I ended up throwing some bell peppers in there because I had a bunch in the fridge and wanted to use them before they went bad.

Add all the seasonings to a small bowl and whisk them together.

To make the dressing, add the hummus, chopped dill, and lemon juice to a bowl and stir it up really well.

Start adding things to a bowl. Quinoa…

Let the sweet potatoes cool a bit before you add them or they will be the only warm ingredient.

At some point, you can season the bowl. Doesn’t really matter when.

Add the fresh veggies…

Top with the dressing and enjoy!! This turned out delicious and will be a perfect meal for a hot summer day!
