While this cook occurred somewhere closer to the fourth of July rather than September 11th, I still felt like bringing you an American post on this day. If there’s one thing that’s American, it’s the bacon cheeseburger. If you’re going to be more America than should be allowed, you make a lot of bacon cheeseburgers and invite people over. And that’s what we’re doing.

I love that Smithfield brands a “Double Thick Double Smoked Bacon Lover’s Bacon”. Again, appealing to that American base. We’re going pretty simple with premade, preformed patties.. in doing so, you can only choose the finest. For me, I like a Schweid and Sons. Now that I have a grinder, I look forward to making my own, I just need the economy to cooperate.

Let’s finish out our main course with a side of corn. This just about wraps up what the Traditional American Cookout is. Let’s add a little bit of ForensicBBQ to the mix with a burger sauce.

I think I’ve perfected the burger sauce and I welcome you to steal the recipe and give me your reviews. I’m not a mustard fan in any sense, so if you’re similar, give this one a try: The No Mustard Burger Sauce

While I don’t go fancy all the time with these posts – I do like this wordpress Slider feature – especially when it comes to cooking. Kinda fun to slide it over and see the progression. At least it is for me. I’m not entirely sure how it translates across platforms – whether it’s computer or phone, Apple or Windows, Chrome or Safari – a better blog than this knows these things. But MrsForensicBBQ and I do this for fun. Because we can. America. Have a look at that bacon difference! And then take a peek at the corn below.

Again it’s fun for me. Let’s round out this fun post with something else that’s truly America – family. We brought some over and they brought some food as well. MrsForensicBBQ of course went over the top with her salad arrangements. It was a great day with great people.

Let’s get these burgers cooked up.

The bacon cheeseburger – cooked with a pellet smoker.. with smoked bacon and smoked corn on the cob. Salad and sides. A perfect burger sauce on a perfect Spring day. So easy to take all of this for granted. Take your minute on this 25th anniversary of 11 September. Give thanks we still create these fantastic meals with friends and family in the greatest country in the world!
