As we come fresh off April Fool’s Day, I thought I’d throw a fun post your way and the story behind it. It was fun for me, don’t know about the rest of the family, but I attempted to share the enjoyment as best I could. Who would’ve thought a frozen pizza pie would generate this kind of intrigue – but it did.
The Story

This household is big fans of the Tillamook brand. If we’re making a normal recipe, we’re use a normal cheese. If we want to make it fancy, we’re looking to Tillamook for maximum flavor. That’s just who we are. I like a Kerrygold butter, I like a Tillamook cheese. So much so, we looked up Tillamook products and I was alerted that they make a frozen pizza.
But is it available?
I looked for this damn pie everywhere in the midwest. It was on our shopping list forever. The “find a product” on the website was inaccurate, but I was undeterred. It would remain on the shopping list until I could find it. And then i found it.
The Parody
So I thought I could shop at this particular place because of updated guidance. I didn’t read the fine print and I attempted anyway. It was my first venture into this market and while unremarkable, I came across the elusive Tillamook pizza. Super excited, I brought it to the checkout and was told I could not shop here. I pleaded my case and was allowed to check out. I’m vague on purpose – but it was a comical scenario. Don’t worry.. I got the pie.
If you didn’t scroll through the pictures above, you should. It was at least 6 months that we looked for this pizza pie, so I walked around to find any cat that wanted to enjoy the moment with me. If the pictures above look like none of them wanted to – it’s because that’s true.

Opened her up, and noticed no typical cardboard circle to maintain structure. I like the confidence, let’s see how that translates. I opened it up and saw a good amout of seasoning on there. Love it. Even frozen, I got a slight aroma from the product. I had high hopes, and so far we’re running hot.
The Product

It’s important to note, I cooked this to instruction without any additions. Normally, I’d add cheese, pepperoni, hot pepper flakes, ForensicBBQ Roasted Garlic, etc.. anything to make that frozen pizza pie better. This was going to be cooked as they wanted me to cook it – because In Tillamook We Trust.

To the minute, I removed the pie and let it rest for a 3-5 minutes. Did an even cut, and tasted it. What took 6+ months to find and 20 minutes to cook, was it worth the hype?

Again, was it worth the hype?
Well – it was my hype. I hyped this thing up to be the crowned jewel of frozen pizza pies. And was it? Maybe. It was a delicious product, but it wasn’t “blow me away” good. It was definitely top tier and if I had the choice at any market, I’d buy it. We love us Tillamook and we’ll visit the place soon!
