After a long consultation with MrsForensicBBQ – Me eating a meaty dish, Mrs eating a healthy plant-based dish.. it was decided, we’re going to keep this thing going for another three years! Hard to believe it’s been three years..
Where we’re at
Three years ago, ForensicBBQ was launched for a couple of reasons – of which only one remains: To share our love of cooking with all y’all. MrsForensicBBQ occupies our Mondays with her plant-based creations. I tie up the Fridays with some traditional and oddball food that doesn’t always make sense for a barbecue food blog (Totino’s post anyone?)
We started off with a very simple site, and evolved into what I think is a pretty user friendly experience (Disagree? info@forensicbbq.com and tell me why). Our search button lets you find recipes on the quick – I use it all the time. I needed to plan another pork butt cook, searched for it, and knew the times I needed super fast. Our categories are broken down logically and we hope those assist you in reading our cooks.
The last few website changes have been good and bad. I’ve been streamlining the photos to hopefully get the pages loading faster for everyone. We don’t do video and everyone loves visuals, so we need this pictures to be both quantity and quality. I had to scrap the e-mail list due to so many issues – but I hope to bring that back soon.
Where we’re going
It’s official, we signed on for another THREE years over here at the site. If I can bring you another update in 2026, we’ll be so overjoyed that we kept this going. I didn’t think we’d be here after this long, but it happened.
Hinted at it, but we’re going to bring back the e-mail list I hope. Instead of trying to cheap out, we’ll do it the right way. Our social media is a pain to keep updated (Gettr, Truth, Locals, Facebook, Twitter). Instagram is about the only one we get any real engagement, so we may have to trim back. If you weren’t already aware, both MrsForensicBBQ and I work full-time jobs – so we don’t do this as a career and we try our damndest to stay timely.
Our goals: Get this thing official, sell some seasonings/sauces, but most of all – keep providing you the content every Monday/Friday. We haven’t made a single dollar on this venture. Not one. But we’ve spent a few, especially in re-upping for another 3 years.
