RecTeq Chicken Caesar Wraps

I used the RecTeq to make this, so I’m going to post it. Made this after work on a weekday, still pretty tired from my overnight California-and-back venture (I know, crazy right). MamaFBBQ allegedly “bought too many” of these Panko Chicken Tenderloins and “didn’t have room” in the freezer. She gifted them – we know it – but I appreciate it all the same. I normally like a self-seasoned chicken if I’m going to make some bird – but can’t let these go to waste. I’ve used these as taste-testers for my BBQ sauce, for the Way Hot Sauce Post – it’s effortless and they taste good.

I personally wouldn’t bother with the recipe section – but I’m sticking to the format. It’s frozen chicken – ain’t much effort on my end.

The Prep Table

After my epic Barbacoa the other day, I have some burrito wraps to use up. Let’s make some chicken wraps. Sure, a grilled chicken would have been good – healthier – but these frozed birds do taste pretty good. Yes, resident spell-checker Zach – I said frozed.

I put some tomatoes and cucumber in there too – but quick post – quick pictures.

In addition to the gifted frozen tenderloins, some fresh garden-grown cucumbers were added. In hindsight, I should’ve pre-heated those tortillas before I went with the wrap, as the result wasn’t great – but it was still a good overall dinner – and future lunches for the week. The process is still pretty straightforward, but I’ll walk you through what I did.

The Process

Per Tyson, 450 degrees for 20 minutes, flip and cook for another 7 until IT 165.

Put a spray of some of that Grill PAM on the grates and throw the frozen tenderloins on the grates and let it ride for awhile. When they started to brown up, I gave them a flip – I think it was right around 20 minutes. Once the flip happened, I went assembling the wrap. Pre-bought lettuce, MrsForensicBBQ’s sliced little tomatoes, cucumber, parmesan, and some red onion.

Wrap assembly.

Took the chickens off the grates and sliced one up. Gave it that Caesar dressing drizzle and wrapped it up. Here’s where I hated not pre-heating that wrap, because it didn’t play nice. Oh well, like my father always said growing up: “All looks the same after you’ve eaten it”. Photo-favorite Instagram would heavily disagree with this, but it worked.

Let’s wrap

After I wrapped it up, decided to continue and throw the wrap on the grill to give it some character. What was the result? Glad you asked…

The Result

The drip pan was still coated with that butter mess from the Crab Legs – so the smoke was pretty heavy, especially when it first got going.

Kinda crappy wrap-job, but I was pushing a solid hunger at this point.

The underside had a better grill mark, but this did just fine:

The RecTeq Chicken Caesar Wrap – With some waiting in the background

Was a quick one, they all can’t be overnight brisket posts – the wallet won’t allow it. BUT, I have that section titled “Cheap Eats” for this reason. If you want something that isn’t competition-quality meats – but want some inspiration anyway – Cheap Eats. Thanks for the visit!

We’re into the autumn months – quickly approaching winter. I’ll sincerely try to keep these weekly posts going through winter, but we all know “grill season” has passed. I’m sure MrsForensicBBQ wants some smoked cheese – I have some supplies left over from a cancelled cater job.. I’ll try to deliver the content! Thanks again!
