MrsForensicBBQ and I forgot to edit her latest post for MrsMonday – so I’ll bridge the gap between posts with another in the series of Quick Bites.
Waking up on a cold weekend morning, I want to grab a quick sandwich that doesn’t take any time at all to make. I have these “butter waffles” I picked up from Whole Foods. They come two in a pack and they last for a suspiciously long period of time. Pop ’em in the toaster oven and get ready for the rest.
Frozen sausage discs in the freezer? No problem. Take two of ’em out, wrap them in paper towel and plate it for the microwave as we crack a couple eggs.
I don’t exactly remember what seasoning I put on these eggs, but it was probably Rich’s Secret Spice as I love that flavor with eggs. The way I do it: Give your pan a spray, season the pan. Crack the eggs in a bowl, add some more seasonings and whisk. Pour onto the pan and cook until done.
What I did differently, and I don’t think MrsForensicBBQ was exactly impressed with, but I did it anyway… took a mason jar lid and used it to cut perfect circles in the finished egg. (I know, a lot of you probably love a sunny-side-up, but I don’t like a runny yolk. Never have, don’t think I ever will)
Toaster pops, hit that microwave button for the 2 or 3 minutes it takes. Waffle, Egg, syrup, shredded cheese, sausage, Waffle topper. Looking damn good, pour some of that OJ and take a picture.
Sometimes the dishes look good and want to share them. They don’t get their slot in a Forensic Friday, but I’ll share them when there’s a lull in the action. Today is that day.
We’ll see you on Friday! (April Fool’s Day).
