Hot dogs are more than just dog, bun, ketchup/mustard. In fact, if you’ve settled – if you’ve minimalized yourself to that fact – you’re doing yourself a disservice. The hot dog is a blank canvas. So much so, I’ve dedicated an entire section of this website to different hot dogs of all types of styles. What I haven’t done is a greek style hot dog.
The gyro sandwich is a thing of beauty. We can do the same thing with a hot dog, no question. This will be a short post (I’ll probably be in the northwest USA by the time this posts) – but I had to share this one with ya.

We’re just going to RecTeq/GrilLGrates a hot dog and pile on the toppings. I wanted a crispier hot dog for this, so we’re going to split it and cook it hard. Open it up so we got room for all that delightful cucumber sauce.

Once we’ve cooked the dog, we’re going to throw a halved slices of cucumbers on one side, sliced red onions on the other. But the tzatziki sauce on top and sprinkle some Feta cheese on there (More than you need, because I know you love cheese like I do). I halved some cherry tomatoes and throw those down the middle and top with some fresh dill.

The Greek Hot Dog is now a mainstay in the home. So clean, so fresh.. every bite was delicious. Don’t let your friends tell you a hot dog is only topped with ketchup (it’s not) or mustard (how dare you). Turn yourself into a culinary Bob Ross and paint some happy little trees.
